C&K announces the launch its compact LCW series of sub-miniature sealed snap-acting switches.
With a contact rating up to 0.1 amp as first release, the new products deliver a highly repeatable action, making them ideal for very high-precision, detection applications, such as temperature, and pressure switching in motorised equipment, sump pumps thermostatic controls and air conditioners.
With a variety of actuator configurations (pin plunger, short lever, lever, and simulated lever), the snap-action switches are highly adaptable.
Their compact size and range of available terminal configurations delivers more efficient use of the PCB area available.
A major advantage of the snap switch is their ability to detect any vandalism.
For example, if someone forcibly damages an energy meter, the snap mechanism will automatically send a signal to detect this attack – a feature of greater use for metering in remote or difficult to reach locations.
Snap-acting switches installed in smart energy meters may not be actuated for years, yet should still operate reliably should the meter be vandalised.
Certified to UL 61058-1, RoHS compliant and rated to IP67, the switches are ideal for use in harsh environmental conditions with an operating temperature range of -40ºC to +120ºC.
Additionally, the low priced LCW series of snap-acting switches are highly reliable. With an electrical life of 10,000 cycles, they support applications with extended lifespans.
“Price is a key consideration for customers of sealed snap-acting switches, and our new generation of compact LCW Series sub-miniature switches offer significant value for money compared to alternatives in the market. Besides the advantages of affordability, C&K ensures that quality standards are always maintained,” comments Jeffrey Phan, Global Product Manager, C&K.
