1200W full-brick DC-DC converters have a 200 to 425V input and a 94% efficiency

The PH1200A280 range is available with five output voltages

TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda PH1200A280 full-brick DC-DC converters for use with HVDC (high voltage direct current) input voltages from 200 to 425Vdc. This further extends the PH-A280 series – with power levels of 50W, 75W, 100W, 150W, 300W, 600W and now 1,200W. These power modules are suitable for high voltage DC distributed power architecture systems found in semiconductor test equipment, data communications, power transmission lines, industrial and renewable energy applications utilising input voltages in the range from 200 to 425Vdc.

The PH1200A280 range is available with five output voltages; 12V, 24V, 28V, 36V and 48V. They feature a wide -40% to +20% adjustment range, in order to accommodate non-standard voltages. Packaged in the industry standard full-brick package (61 x 12.7 x 116.8mm), they have an efficiency of 94% and can operate at full load with baseplate temperatures between -40°C and +100°C. The converters can be conduction cooled, making them suitable for use in sealed outdoor enclosures or liquid-cooled applications. Three tailored heatsinks options are available, for use in systems with forced air or convection cooling.

As standard, these DC-DC converter modules feature a current share circuit and an internal Oring FET for redundancy or higher power requirements. Remote on/off, output adjustment, remote sense, 12V auxiliary output and a module good signal are also available. The PH1200A280 has over-voltage and over-current protection, a five-year warranty and allows operation up to 5,000m altitude.

The series is fully isolated, with an input to output isolation of 3,000Vac, 2,500Vac input to baseplate and 500Vac output to baseplate. Safety certification is to the IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 standards with CE and UKCA marking to the Low Voltage and RoHS directives.
