15 and 30W all-in-one DC-DC converters requiring no external components

TDK Corporation launches the TDK-Lambda CCGS series of 15 and 30W isolated DC-DC converters featuring all-in-one packages that require no external components, helping customers reduce design complexity and the overall system footprint. The CCGS series models are available in a variety of connector and enclosure package types, including DIN-rail mounting, and feature TDK-Lambda’s widely used board-mount CCG models, which have demonstrated strong field reliability – giving confidence in long-term performance.

With the release of the CCGS series, TDK-Lambda offers a simplified solution that reduces both development time and manufacturing costs for OEMs, while providing flexibility through a broad selection of modules. Both the 15 and 30W models offer 3.3, 5, 12 and 15V single outputs, with additional +/-12V and 15V configurations also available. The CCGS15 model can provide up to 15 W of output power with an input voltage range of 9 to 36V (safety certified from 18–36V) or 18 – 76V. The 30W models are fully certified from 9 to 36V or 18–76 V input.

The chassis mount model measures 52 x 93 x 23.5mm (W x D x H), with screw terminal connections featuring captive screws to prevent dropped hardware, improving installation efficiency. The /DIN DIN-rail clip-on mount model measures 52 x 93 x 31.9mm and the /B option provides end-users with JST push-on connectors for input and output to help prevent wiring errors; both can be combined to simplify installation.

As standard, the single-output CCGS has an adjustable output voltage potentiometer, enabling voltages ranges of 2.97-3.63V (3.3V nominal), 4.50-5.50 V (5V nominal), 10.80-13.20 V (12 V nominal), and 13.50-16.50V (15V nominal). A green LED indicates output power status, allowing quick visual confirmation during system checks. The remote on/off functionality provides an output inhibit feature, enabling system-level power sequencing and allowing engineers to safely isolate subsystems during maintenance, reducing downtime. The efficiency of the converter is typically between 84–87%, model-dependent. The operating temperature of the CCGS series is from -20 to 70oC with natural convection cooling.

The CCGS series is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 for altitudes up to 5000m. The withstand voltage is input to chassis 1500Vdc, input to output 1500Vdc, and output to chassis 1000Vdc.
