Boulting achieves ISO 9001:2015 certification

Engineering solutions provider, Boulting has achieved ISO 9001:2015 for its quality management system (QMS) that ensures a consistently outstanding service for its clients.

It was accredited by the Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) for the updated 2015 standard, having previously been awarded ISO 9001:2008.

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised quality management standard.

The 2015 update places a significant emphasis on leadership, requiring Boulting to demonstrate how its directors, board members and managers steer the business.

In addition, the communication to staff of the potential effects of the decisions and directions must also be clear.

Boulting is a multi-disciplined engineering solutions provider, operating in a range of industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, renewable power and nuclear, both nationally and internationally.

The company has consistently placed an emphasis on quality of service, incorporating this into its ethos, ‘engineering excellence’.

The certification provides assurance to clients of this commitment to quality, by demonstrating the certified management system, which has been independently reviewed for its benefits and quality control.

Boulting was required to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Boulting aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of its management system, including processes for improvement of the system and assurance of conformity to customer requirements.

“At Boulting, we strive to deliver the most innovative and forward-thinking solutions to the highest quality standards,” explained Gavin Punshon, quality and environment director at Boulting. “The systems and procedures we have developed have not only been a benefit to our customers, but have also helped to further enhance senior management involvement. This has led to an increased understanding of requirements across all levels of the organisation.

“An increased visibility of key performance indicators (KPIs) ensures each person fully understands the part they play, no matter what their role is within the business.

“There is no doubt that the continuous use of the ISO 9001 framework has resulted in increased efficiency, accurate decision making and higher levels of customer satisfaction.

“The updates and emphasis on leadership build upon these existing frameworks and we are confident that employee spirit will be further enhanced across our sites nationwide,” concluded Punshon.

The upgraded certification comes as part of an ongoing leadership strategy for Boulting, which will unify processes, procedures and systems to further guarantee quality and efficiency throughout all levels of the business.
