The new units can fulfil both cooling and heating demands of medium to large sized commercial buildings delivering best in class efficiency levels.
“With the development of the CXAF we aim to make the air-cooled heat pump technology more affordable and advance the electrification of heating to offset the use of fossil fuels for heating and thus reduce our carbon footprint,” said Jose La Loggia, vice president and general manager of Trane in Europe. “This new heat pump aligns with innovation strategy to offer our customers more options for sustainability and better efficiency without sacrificing quality or reliability.”
The new Sintesis Advantage CXAF air-cooled heat pumps are now available across Europe in capacities ranging from 280 to 700 kilowatts (kW) offering wider operating map versus the legacy products.
The CXAF can operate down to negative 15˚C producing hot water of 40-45˚C without the need for auxiliary heating, making it suitable for most European climates and a more reliable and efficient alternative for gas or fuel boilers.
Compact, modular design based on the Sintesis platform and reversible technology allows the unit to operate as a chiller during the summer period. This reduces the volume of equipment needed in a building and lowers installation, maintenance and total lifecycle costs.
The Sintesis Advantage CXAF offers customers more configuration options compared to the legacy product.
Customers can now choose between fan technologies and sound packages in order to make the right choice between cost, efficiency and sound level and tailor the system to their specific application.
The units offer best in class, Eurovent Class A efficiency in heating and seasonal efficiency exceeding minimum regulatory requirements.
The CXAF HEat (High Efficiency) version features an advanced suction line gas heat exchanger that boosts heating capacity with virtually no impact on energy consumption, increasing efficiencies in both full load and part load up to 20% compared to legacy products.
All units in the Trane Sintesis Advantage portfolio are compliant with all applicable European Ecodesign Regulations under the Energy-related Products (ErP) framework Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament.
