Indoor air-cooled chillers and heat pumps

Trane, a provider of indoor comfort solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, is introducing Lyra, new indoor air-cooled chillers and reversible heat pumps.

Lyra delivers higher energy efficiency than previous models, has a larger operating map to provide comfort to more building space, are low-noise, and can operate in outdoor air temperatures as low as minus 10˚C.

“Building owners and managers want higher efficiency, lower noise, and more flexible applications, and we continue innovating to meet those demands,” said Louis Rompré, portfolio manager at Trane Europe. “Lyra delivers impressive improvement in the operating maps, which makes the system versatile across different building applications and across more geographies. It reduces energy use, saves costs and improves environmental footprint, with the proven quality and reliability of Trane.”

Lyra is an indoor HVAC system connected to the outside of the building through easy, customised and silenced duct installation to meet low-noise requirements.

It’s suited to areas with limited or uneven roof space and roof access, minimising the impact on the occupants and neighbourhood. It is designed for theatres, hotels or office buildings located in residential areas, and installations requiring floor-by-floor air-conditioning with individual metering like high class apartment buildings.

Furthermore, with the extended heating operating map the Trane Lyra units also suit regions with lower average outdoor air temperatures.

The new Trane Lyra CGCN chillers and CXCN reversible heat pumps replace the CGCM/CXCM and CGCL indoor air-cooled units.

The new units feature five percent better Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) and Coefficient of Performance (COP) is improved by ten percent when compared to the predecessors.

The new Lyra chillers are also more sustainable using less refrigerant due to the use of micro-channel condenser coils.

The Trane Lyra range is fully compliant with the applicable European Union (EU) Ecodesign Directive including the EU Commission Regulation 2016/2281 implementing the Directive 2009/125/EC.
