Last chance for seats at inaugural AEMT Awards dinner

The awards are expected to become recognised as a mark of excellence and commitment to innovation and outstanding customer service in the electrical and mechanical engineering and service sectors

The race is on to get the last few tickets for the inaugural Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) Awards ceremony, which promises to be a glittering evening of fantastic entertainment that will become a fixture in the industry calendar.

The event will take place on the 29th November at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel, Coventry, UK. Tickets are available from the awards website HERE.



The awards are expected to become recognised as a mark of excellence and commitment to innovation and outstanding customer service in the electrical and mechanical engineering and service sectors.

To this end, the AEMT has partnered with leading companies and publications such as Drives & Controls, Hydraulics & Pneumatics and Plant & Works Engineering to sponsor and promote the awards, as well as the short-listed companies and eventual section winners.

There are to be six presentations on the night, including:

Technical Innovation of the Year – Products. Sponsored by Plants & Works Engineer, DFA Media. Shortlist: The Ability Smart Sensor, ABB; Cogineer, EPLAN; HiTRAX Life Extending Insulation System, Houghton International; ServiceView, Fletcher Moorland; WiFi Control Unit, Motive NEO; Smart Site (Software Application), EMIR Software and Workshop Routing (Software Application), EMIR Software.

Technical Innovation of the Year – Projects. Sponsored by EMIR Software Shortlist: Modification and installation of a new, third party supplied, process control panel, containing a soft start unit, Central Group; Digital transformation for process plant, Larsem and Toubro; Timber frame manufacturer, conveyor system, Rotamec Engineering Solutions and AODD Pump used in foam concrete landfill application, Triark Pumps.

Industry Supplier of the Year. Sponsored by Fletcher Moorland. Shortlist: HME Holt & Martin, Neu-Servo Repairs, PEME, Preformed Windings, EMIR Software and Tomlinson Hall & Co.

Rising Star Award. Sponsored by TEC Motors. Shortlist: David Cook, EMIR Software, Ryan Davis, Rotamec Engineering Solutions, Gareth Lynch, Central Group, Richard Urwin, Fletcher Moorland Ltd and Liam Williams, Pumps & Motors (UK) Ltd.

Lifetime Achievement Award. Sponsored by The AEMT. This award is determined and presented by the AEMT.

Sam Agnew, a member of the AEMT’s events team, says: “Just about every industry relies on pumps and motors somewhere along the line, so these awards will recognise the very important work done by the sort of engineers who rarely feature in the limelight.”

She explains that she is particularly pleased that there are both Rising Star and Skills and Training Awards, because they highlight the forward looking nature of the industry and demonstrate commitment and investment for the long term.

Coupled with the Lifetime Achievement Award, they show how experience and expertise combines with development and innovation for a confident future.
