Automotive and aerospace quality management experts G&P have won the Waste Management/Reduction category at the edie Sustainability Leaders Awards 2018.

G&P’s achievement is in recognition of the work it has conducted to reduce levels of waste for its automotive and aerospace customers by more than £2.5 billion in a single calendar year.

Accepting the award, Mick Jackson, U.K. Operations Director at G&P, said: “This is a fantastic achievement by G&P as the edie Sustainability Leaders Awards is one of the most prestigious, and influential, national awards rewarding excellence and innovation in sustainability.

“Indeed, as quality management experts one of G&P’s key areas of focus is helping companies reduce waste and cost through the production of the right parts, first time, every time.”

The edie Sustainability Leaders Awards recognises and rewards true sustainability leadership and excellence across all business sectors. Its judges are key independent industry experts who looked for initiatives, products, projects or strategies that showed commitment, credibility and concrete results.

Judges said: “G&P’s Award winning Quality Excellence Model is a real gamechanger for the automotive and aerospace manufacturing sectors. With 21.4 million parts prevented from becoming waste in a single year, this approach to waste management is highly effective and truly inspirational.”

At the heart of G&P’s Award winning Quality Excellence Model is an in house sophisticated software system called QTrak, which allows real-time analysis and identification of quality issues.
