High capacity UB123A battery launches

Global battery manufacturer Accutronics is now distributing the newly-announced UB123A battery from its parent company Ultralife Corporation; which boasts a capacity of 1800mAh. 

The battery is manufactured at the Ultralife headquarters in Newark, New York, USA, and provides a high capacity of 1800mAh. 

Distributed by Accutronics to European electronics manufacturers, the battery offers high energy density and reliability to overcome challenges faced in powering the smart homes of the future.

Built on Ultralife’s proven experience with commercial and military lithium technology, the UB123A joins the company’s existing CR123A battery portfolio.  

Samples of the UB123A are available, allowing electronics design engineers and smart device manufacturers to experience the features of the cell for the first time.  This includes a crimp seal style and spiral construction to provide the high capacity capability.

Applications for this cell include digital video cameras/SLR cameras, portable lights and small electrical appliances, as well as sensors and devices in smart home networks.  

The lightweight cells offer a stable voltage, have a high energy density and low self-discharge.

The battery’s 1800mAh capacity gives it the reliability needed to power home automation devices; reducing the need for replacement by the homeowner.

Weighing 17 grams, the UB123A is designed with functionality in mind while not compromising on performance.  Operating temperatures range from -20 to 72˚C and storage temperatures between -40 and 60 degrees Celsius.
