Embedded World: ‘Sensor-to-sunset’ offer from Arrow Electronics

Arrow Electronics announces, in collaboration with Microsoft, a customer enablement experience based on a real use-case hardware, software and services solution aligned with Arrow’s mission to offer complete IoT solutions from ‘sensor-to-sunset’.

The first 1,000 customers to register for the ‘sensor-to-sunset’ experience with Arrow Electronics at Embedded World, Booth 340, Hall 4A, February 27th-March 1st, Nuremberg, Germany, will receive an integrated bundle of IoT sensors, software, applications, and services featuring IoT technologies from Microsoft, SensiEDGE and Arrow Electronics. This integrated bundle will allow customers to quickly explore product concepts and solicit customer experience feedback.

An IoT sensor node designed by SensiEDGE utilising industry leading embedded processing, sensors, and wireless technologies, collects environmental data such as might be found in typical IoT applications.

The Arrow Connect mobile app, running on the customers mobile device, collects IoT sensor data and acts as a gateway to deliver sensor telemetry to www.arrowconnect.io, which provides a comprehensive set of device management services.

Participants will also receive a 30-day trial to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Power BI.

An example open-sourced IoT cloud application running on Microsoft Azure illustrates how to use APIs to extract data and create custom IoT web applications.

Sensor telemetry is simultaneously delivered to a Microsoft Power BI dashboard to learn how self-service business intelligence applications can be utilised in IoT applications.

To complete the ‘sensor-to-sunset’ experience, customers will be invited to return no longer needed IoT sensors to Arrow for re-use, reclaim, or retirement.

“Bringing IoT solutions from ideation to implementation can be complex and time-consuming. Arrow’s integrated bundle of sensors, software and services will enable their customers to get started quickly,” said Rodney Clark, Vice President, IoT, Microsoft. “With the “sensor-to-sunset” experience customers can utilise Azure IoT services that empower businesses with key insights to drive impact”

“IoT device manufacturers are faced with numerous hardware, software, business, and product life-cycle challenges to bring IoT products to market,” said Aiden Mitchell, vice president and general manager of IoT global solutions at Arrow. “Through this collaboration with Microsoft and SensiEDGE, Arrow customers now have access to products and services to fully experience the IoT technology life-cycle.”
